Hawaii Moves to Ban Assault Weapons

Ladies and gentlemen, the above title is not a hoax. We have reached the pinnacle what could be the capstone of our bad gun laws: a ban on semi-automatic rifles and other firearms. And, as if an attempt to ban these guns was not bad enough, this is also a confiscation bill that would require individuals turn in their firearms to the police or become felons. My friends, this is war. A war for the rights protected under the United States Constitution; a war for the freedoms that our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and even myself have sacrificed to protect. We will not go down without a fight.

Here is the down and dirty of the bill proposed by Senator Ihara.

Bill Description:

Prohibits the distribution, transport, importation into the State, keeping for sale, or offering or exposing for sale assault weapons, or giving to another person assault weapon. Defines assault weapon. Prohibits the possession, sale, transfer, or use of a machine gun in the perpetration or attempted perpetration of certain crimes. Defines machine gun. Makes use of an assault weapon or machine gun in the course of committing murder in the first degree or second degree, manslaughter, kidnapping, sexual assault, assault in the first or second degree, robbery, burglary, or theft subject to criteria for extended term of imprisonment.

One thing we also learned from this is that Senator Ihara doesn’t have a clue about gun laws.

MACHINE GUNS HAVE ALREADY BEEN BANNED FOR A LONG TIME.

Why the need for duplicitous legislation? Are people just running around Hawaii with machine guns now? No. They are not. This guy is just buying into the gun ban hype and wants to take your rights away. We encourage everyone to get active and involved. Pay attention to the HDF Fan page and our local forums at 2aHawaii.com. It’s time to step into the ring and fight back against infringements.

  1. Please let me know what I can do to tell Senator Ihara and our other legislators that I am not agreement with this and other anti-first amendment rights legislation. I’ll also remind those representatives that my vote also follows this sentiment.

    • Bombard your elected Rep with your wishes along with “facts” (he/she if Democrat does not have the facts or ignorse them) and each time tell yourself “they work for me not the other way around”. Never forget that. AND…The armed American is a Citizen, a disarmed American is a “subject”.

  2. Before reading this website,I had no idea assault weapons may be banned. That makes me nervous. If that bill passes, only criminals outlaws and government will have those types of weapons.
Law abiding citizens such as ourselves whould be at a great disadvantage to say the least!

  3. This is a total OUTRAGE!!
WHO IN THE HELL has Gotten to Senator…what bribery or extortion is he under the inflluence of??
EVERYONE I KNOW IS DEAD AGAINST THIS!!

  4. How dare they even consider altering our right to bare arms. My husband who is active military, almost 30 yrs and all the males from both sides of my family from WWII have fought and shed blood for our Freedom and in this country not to mention hundreds and thousands now and before this.
THEY WILL BE FIGHT BC WE WILL NOT BE BULLIED BY THESE FAKE POLITICIANS THAT PRETEND TO CARE ABOUT OUR COUNTRY AND THE PEOPLE! HELL WITH THEM!!!!!!!

  6. The sad thing is the rifles they want to ban are not “assault weapons”, but rifles that are the most commonly used throughout the U.S. as sporting and competition rifles. The media and politicians who have never fired a firearm want to ban any firearm that has a scary appearance. If they supported and defended the Constitution, they would not infringe on our right to keep and bear arms.

Legal gun owners are not the problem, they do not commit crimes with firearms. The problem is the revolving door for violent criminals, who are allowed to plea to a lesser charge, get light sentences and are released early to commit more crimes. Politicians blaming gun owners for what criminals do, is like blaming people who drive cars for what drunk drivers do.
