“More Guns Less Crime” with Dr. John R. Lott
Dinner Seminar with Dr. John R. Lott
Earlier in February we had the great opportunity to have a seminar with Dr. John R. Lott, a senior research scientist at the University of Maryland. John is essentially the tip of the spear when it comes to the statistical analysis of gun control legislation. He analyzes the effects of laws, especially of right to carry laws, and how their implementation affects crime rates.
John regularly appears on various panels debating gun control, the most amusing are usually against Paul Helmke, an anti-gun supporter, from the Brady Campaign Against Gun Violence, whose rumors are consistently debunked with common sense and factual information.
We were able to really enjoy the seminar and spend a little time with John to speak with him; I think Chris must have asked him a hundred or more questions! The seminar pulled in 40 supporters for the evening. A sit down dinner was served with a great menu. The event was an excellent time and a great fundraiser for the Hawaii Defense Foundation. We raised over 700 dollars for the Foundation!
We Personally thank Mr. Lott for his hard work and volunteer efforts towards our organization.
You can find some his books on gun control at Amazon.com or any bookstore.
Best Fact of the Evening:
There has never been an overall increase in crime rates, anywhere, after right to carry laws have been enacted.
